Ah HA!

Last night, as I was reading Harry Potter and just about ready to go to sleep, I heard BIG thunder. As of late, that has become my cue to go check my basement. So I went downstairs as soon as it started raining. Nothing.

I waited about 10 minutes, and checked again. OMG! The worst yet! The only good part is that I found out where it is coming in. It is coming in through the bottom of the wall over under the window. Because water seeks the lowest spot, there wasn't much water there, and it had all moved over to the middle of the floor. And as I watched it come in, I could see it's route, and hear it in the wall. YIKES! So I hollered for Steve who had just gotten home. Of course he had to ponder it, and then empty it, even though I had asked him two weeks ago to do so, but he grabbed the shop vac and headed downstairs. When he landed on his butt at the bottom of the stair in the puddle of water, I knew for sure why he was so late coming home. (Not that I didn't already have an idea.) Anyway, I'm trying to squeegee the water out the door, while he's sitting on the bottom step, trying to keep the water flowing into the shop vac. Not an easy feat when you've had way more beer than you're supposed to have in one sitting. So I sent the majority of the water out the door as he sat there, occasionally emptying the canister while I sent up a prayer that he wouldn't drop, slosh, or otherwise spill the contents before he got to the door.

I will make getting this fixed a priority for Sunday. He said he needed to fix his truck, but my thought on that is that if he had done that last Sunday like he said he was going to, instead of sitting on his butt in front of the TV all day, there wouldn't be a conflict.

Hang onto your hats! Things are fixin' to hit a brick wall at #1303! Both figuratively and literally....

Glad to hear you found the answer to the leak! Knowing is always better than wondering. Good luck with the personal issues.
