Tropical Depression

Tropical Storm Fay is making her way through Georgia, bringing much needed rain and cooler temperatures. I'm enjoying the steady breeze. Well, it's not so much a breeze as it is wind. But nevertheless, it feels wonderful. If it would just stop raining and take the humidity with it, it would be very fall-like here in the deep south.

High School Football started last night with a scrimmage game, followed by a fight. It's been a very interesting last couple days. We've had two shootings, a couple armed robberies, too many domestic disputes to count. I'm blaming it on the tropical depression.

And then today - nothing! Can't even find a moving violation. I'm tired of writing parking tickets in front of Wal-Mart. I think I've written 25-30 of those in the last two or three weeks. I could write many, many more if I spent all my free time there. It amazes me that people will pull up and park in the fire-lane while I'm writing someone else. Or see me, turn on their flashers, and then get mad 'cause that doesn't count. No parking is NO parking!

I've been spending a good bit of my off-time working. I picked up a very good-paying traffic job. In the last week I've made nearly $600 in Paris-money, and I've got this coming Tuesday. In addition, I've managed to pick up quite a bit of Dispatch overtime due to people being out sick.
