A Busy Weekend!

I stayed pretty busy this weekend. After giving blood on Friday, I didn't feel like doing much when I got home, so I just vegged. Got up Saturday morning and hit the ground running. I had a bit of a headache, but I decided I wasn't gonna let it get the best of me. So I ran up to Archiver's. Forgot what I really went up there for... StazOn Ink pads. Then I had a return at the mall so I handled that and contemplated going to Macy's. I'm glad I didn't! I went to DSW instead. I'm glad I did! I had been wanting a pair of boots. I didn't decide that until too late in the season last year. But I have a sweater dress that would look great with boots. Anyway, I found a pair at DSW. The heel is a perfect height for me, but not completely flat. They aren't leather, but they were only $50. And no more than I'll actually wear them, that's just as well.

When I got done there, I ran over to Michael's, again forgetting the ink pads. I did find a 9x20 shadowbox frame that has lots of possibilities. By then, my headache was so bad, I just wanted to go home. So I got home, and got cooled down. It was near 100, and that probably had something to do with it.

I had been home a little while, and taken some good drugs, when Pam called. She wanted to know if I wanted to go to Filene's Basement with her. I've been wanting to go there, so I said sure. Well, when I opened my door to get in the car, I had a package waiting. This is SO cool! I had ordered a bunch of wires for the Bind-it-All from Bonnie's Best. Pam and I were going to split them. I placed the order at about 3:30 on Friday afternoon, and they were there by 2pm on Saturday! How cool is that?

Anyway, we stopped at Ruby Tuesday for lunch. That helped my headache immensely! Then headed over to the Basement. I found some EXCELLENT bargains. The most expensive item I bought was a $20 sweater. For $56, I bought Cynthia a pair of $3 flip-flops, for myself, 4 shirts, and that sweater. As we were heading out, I found the sweetest dress for Olivia for $15. It looks like silk, although it isn't, and has a knitted top with ribbon embroidery, and a matching sweater. It is just gorgeous!

Then we went to Discover Mills (where I had left my car) and I found a pair of sandals for $10 at Nine West, two pair of pants, another sweater and a dress at Eddie Bauer.

I got up yesterday, Sunday, morning and headed for the basement. I needed to get the Big Girl Panties (BGPs) turned around, and on Friday, I received two envelopes for the Diva Travellers envelope RR, so I needed to knock those out.

I also added the kitty cat to Olivia's shadow box. I called on Saturday to wish her HAppy Birthday, but they weren't home. So I called my mom's to see if they were over there. Mom said they were not, and that she had tried to call the house also, to sing Happy Birthday to her. If you knew how badly my mom sings "Happy Birthday", you'd leave home too so you wouldn't have to hear it!

Kris Henderson's BGPs:

I added bright, groovy flowers all over. They are kinda hard to see, since my digital camera takes crappy pictures. Steve's takes great pictures, but I have to jump through hoops to get the photos off the camera, so I didn't go that route.

Aileen's BGPs:

Aileen sent her panties out, almost complete! So I was kinda perplexed. But I added the antennae and put some sparklies on the wings.

Then I proceeded to the Envelope RR. I received Vicki's and Kathy Was' envelopes on Friday. On Vicki's, I added some stamped images to both the front and back. I decided that the flag -colored "Paris" wouldn't show up on her yellow envelope.

On Kathy W's, I added some stamped images and the flag-colored "Paris":

So, now that I am officially caught up on my swaps, I decided to venture out to Michael's and Archiver's again to find the StazOn pads. I found them. And several of their friends. While I was in Michael's, I noticed a display of Christmas stamps. Several of them were by Hampton Arts. First thing this morning, I sent an e-mail to Hampton asking if I could use those stamps. She said, "Sure!" And has popped them in the mail to me! So they should arrive sometime this week! I am so excited because it gets harder and harder each month to come up with new ideas for the same stamps. I have been relying on friends for suggestions and input. I did come up with an idea for the corset stamp this weekend though. I will include that in my September cards.

I'm working a lot of overtime this week, and next weekend. I will be here until 11 tonight, 9 tomorrow night, 7 on Thursday night, and 11 on Friday. Then I'm working 3p to 9 on Sunday. So I'm gonna be busy, busy for the next two weeks! But I am setting aside Saturday to get the cards I promised for September done.

You certainly had a busy week-end (maybe you'll get some rest while you're dong all that overtime). I think the BGP look interesting and the envelopes look wonderful.
