Funny How...

It's kinda funny the way we pair off on our shift. Who we hang out with. Who we want to just stand around and chat with. Who we eat with. Who we can joke with. Who we want to answer calls with and who we want to answer calls with us. Who we'll help out with their evidence, or handle a report call for, and who we say, "Here ya go. I'm outta here." Who we want to back us up...

Tonight, I was on my way home when I decided to run by and check a vacant house that the Chief has a special interest in and I hadn't had time to check on the shift. Everyone on my shift had already left for the night, and yet there was only two of them who had worked that I would have even asked. So when I ran down the list to see who was working on Morning Watch, I was tempted to go on home. Then I saw that Task-Force-Aaron was working, and duty called, so I called him and he came over and entered the house with me.

Interesting who we trust with our lives and funny how we know this.
